I'm having a really frustrating issue with my Ethernet connection. I was following a tutorial to set up a self-hosted game server, and it instructed me to manually configure my TCP/IPv4 settings to include a specific IP address, default gateway, and DNS servers. They mentioned that my internet connection might drop but would reconnect afterwards. However, as soon as I made those changes, I lost my internet connection completely and it hasn't come back since. I've tried switching the settings back to automatic, restarted both my router and computer, flushed DNS, and reset TCP/IP settings, but nothing seems to work. My WiFi is okay since my phone connects fine, but my Ethernet just won't work. I'm not very tech-savvy and I'm feeling really lost here.

That sounds super frustrating! One thing you can try is to go into your Device Manager and delete the Ethernet controller. Windows should reinstall it automatically. Also, avoid setting a fixed IP in your computer settings because it can clash with other devices on your network. Instead, you could set it up in your router to give your computer a fixed IP address.

How do I do that lol?
