I'm looking for some user-friendly software to help my boyfriend digitize his music collection now that we've switched to Linux. We just installed Linux Mint and want to rip CDs to MP3s, ideally at 320 kbps, and have the ability to play music from folders like we did with Windows Media Player. We're both new to Linux, so ease of use is essential. We've used Audacity and MP3 Gain before, so similar options would be great. Also, we need recommendations for any CD burner software since it looks like we don't have that yet. Any suggestions?

For ripping CDs, I'd recommend trying out cdparanoia since it’s pretty straightforward. Audacious is also a great choice for listening to your MP3s. Both should be user-friendly for beginners!
If you’re looking for something easy, I've had success with the AppImage version of fre:ac. It's user-friendly and works well for ripping CDs. Plus, it supports various formats!
VLC Media Player is my go-to for ripping CDs. It's available on multiple platforms including Linux, and it's pretty intuitive. Even kids can figure it out, so it should work well for you guys!
