I recently installed Zorin on my laptop, but I keep running into an issue where airplane mode turns on automatically every time I close and reopen my laptop. I'm starting to wonder if Zorin is the right choice for me. Can anyone suggest other Linux distributions? I'm mainly looking to use my computer for basic internet browsing and possibly running Cricut Design Space, FL Studio, or DaVinci Resolve.

If you're new to Linux, I'd recommend either Ubuntu or Mint. Mint is pretty popular right now, but I personally think Ubuntu is a great starting point because it has better documentation. Plus, since Mint is based on Ubuntu, switching between the two should be a breeze if you decide you want to try Mint later.
Just get a good overview of your options first. Recommendations can be really subjective, so check out this video I found for a good rundown. It's a nice way to compare different distros without getting too deep into it. Enjoy watching! Just remember to enable subtitles!
Have you thought about trying Gentoo? It's a rolling release distro that can be tailored to fit your specific hardware. The manual and wiki are super comprehensive and can guide you through configuration.
I think Gentoo might be a bit much for beginners. It requires a lot of setup. Maybe consider trying out an Arch-based distro. Those can be a good balance for users looking to learn more without getting too overwhelmed.
You should take a look at your settings regarding what happens when you close the lid. Most laptop settings allow you to choose what happens. You might want to set it to do nothing, which can help with that airplane mode issue. Also, check if your laptop has a hardware switch that turns off the screen when you close it.

Thanks for the tips, that helps a lot!
