What Power Supply Should I Choose for My RTX 5080 Build?

I'm building my first PC and want to upgrade my components gradually. I'm starting with the power supply unit (PSU) and plan to get an RTX 5080. I found the CORSAIR RM1000x ATX 3.1 PCIe 5.1 Ready Fully Modular 1000W Power Supply on Amazon for $150. Is this PSU sufficient for my needs? Are there other brands or models I should consider? Also, I noticed another one with the same title going for $280, which is a bit confusing. Any advice would be appreciated!

I've been using an earlier version of the RM1000x with my RTX 5080, and it works great! Just make sure to look at the details when purchasing since the versions might vary even if the titles are the same.

How can you tell which version is older? I see both listed on Amazon with identical titles, but the prices are different, one is $150 and another is $180.

I got the same one from 2020, and it has been reliable for me!

That PSU will work perfectly. I'm currently using the RM1000e (waiting on a replacement now), but apart from a small hiccup with the 24-pin ATX wire, it has been solid. You're making a great choice!

The RM1000x is an excellent choice! It's a top-tier PSU, and if you're in the US, you might want to check the A1000GS model, which is available for around $109. It's a solid alternative if you're looking to save some money.
