I've noticed there hasn't been much communication from AWS over the past couple of weeks regarding the recovery status of their services in the UAE and Bahrain regions. Does anyone have updates or insight into what's currently happening there?

It seems like they advised customers to migrate to other regions since the physical infrastructure there has been targeted due to the ongoing conflict. Honestly, thinking they’ll rebuild everything before the fighting is over seems overly optimistic to me.
Their status seems pretty dire at this point. The general consensus is to relocate your operations to a different region and assume any data there is at risk.
If you're not actively using those regions, consider yourself lucky. Now's a good time to reassess your disaster recovery plans just in case.
The service health dashboard indicated that at least two facilities were hit by drone strikes. This suggests there's likely permanent data loss, and repairing the infrastructure will be a huge challenge.
Exactly. They’re now looking into enabling cross-region backups for safety, which they weren’t keen on before.
Honestly, the way they're communicating sounds like a polite way of saying, 'Be prepared to lose your data.' With the ongoing war, I doubt they'll put any serious effort into this until it’s over.

Optimistic is definitely putting it mildly! It feels downright reckless to think they'll invest resources into rebuilding right now.
