I'm having a frustrating issue with not one, but two OLED TVs. I first bought a 55-inch LG OLED (55CXPUA), which worked perfectly for about five years. Recently, however, the picture started blinking while using my PS5, but it was fine on the Xbox. Eventually, the Xbox began malfunctioning through one HDMI port after another. I read that HDMI ports can fail over time, so I figured that was the problem since both consoles worked fine on regular TVs.
I then purchased a 65-inch Samsung OLED (S90D), and it performed great at first, despite a small black spot on the edge. Unfortunately, after a day, it also started blinking, even in the menus, not just with the HDMI connections. I've been troubleshooting but haven't found a fix. It's plugged into a Vizio soundbar and an older surge protector, and I've heard my building has frequent power surges.
Could it just be bad luck for both TVs, or is there a deeper issue? I've already ordered a new surge protector and plan to return the Samsung, but what else can I do to prevent this from happening again?

I recommend replacing that surge protector first and see if that fixes the issue. If not, you might want to try a different HDMI cable. Losing video signals on two TVs and consoles is unusual, so it could be a faulty cable.
That tiny black spot on your new TV could indicate physical damage, which is concerning. Have you checked for any visible damage on the screen? If both TVs are blinking, there might be a common factor, like your power setup.
Sounds like you might be dealing with a power issue. Try plugging your new TV directly into a good outlet without the soundbar or that old surge protector. If it still blinks within menus, you might need to return it as faulty. Get yourself a quality surge protector while you’re at it!
Thanks for the tip! I tried plugging it directly into the wall, but it didn't help. I'll give it another shot with the new surge protector when it arrives.
I have a similar issue with my Samsung OLED. It usually happens on a cold boot, and after a minute or two of blinking, it goes away. You could try disabling "HDMI UHD Color" in the settings just to see if that makes any difference, although it might degrade the picture quality temporarily.

I tried a couple of different cables, including a new one, but still had issues. The surge protector definitely needs upgrading, though. Appreciate the advice!
