So, I've been dealing with these barking dogs from my neighbors who live three houses away. I filed a noise complaint and need to record their barking as proof. The weird thing is, every single time I hit the record button on my iPhone, the dogs instantly stop barking. It feels like they somehow know I'm recording. Are they using some sort of bark collar that reacts to my recording? How could they possibly know I'm recording from that distance? I really need some help figuring this out!

You might just want to leave your recorder running all the time. If the dogs do start barking, at least you’ll have proof. Or maybe they’ll bark anyway, and you'll catch a good recording!
I know what you're saying! My cats also seem to vanish every time I grab my camera. It’s like they have a sixth sense for it! But I doubt dogs can pick up on that tiny noise your phone makes when recording.
You're definitely overthinking this! It's likely you just get annoyed by their barking at the same time as their owners are, so they're telling them to be quiet when you start your recording. No high-tech stuff going on here!
Honestly, I think it's all a coincidence! Dogs don't usually have that kind of awareness at a distance. It's probably just a fluke that they stop barking when you start recording.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too! Just seems so strange that it happens every time.
Weird coincidences do happen! If you keep recording, who knows when you'll finally catch them barking? Just make sure to consider if you're making any noise that might disturb them, like closing a door or window. Dogs have sharp hearing!
Exactly! It just seems like coincidental timing, not some special response.
