Why does my computer think I’m in the UK?

Lately, my computer seems convinced that I'm located in the UK, even when I don't have a VPN turned on. This started a few days ago, and I haven't been able to pinpoint exactly when it began. No matter which browser I use, I'm redirected to .co.uk websites, and even though my IP looks fine on mylocation.org, the geolocation thinks I'm somewhere in the Scottish Highlands. I've tried this on multiple browsers, and they all show the same incorrect location. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Geolocation via IP can be pretty inaccurate. I frequently show up as being in London when I'm actually in Aberdeen! If you reboot your router, you might get a new IP that could show a different location. Just a thought!

You might want to check for any hidden VPNs or proxies that could be altering your location. It’s possible your system or network is compromised. Try running a malware scan with something like Malwarebytes or checking for unusual startup scripts on your device. Also, look for any strange network activity that could be using your bandwidth.

Sounds like a hiccup with your IP geolocation! Where exactly are you located? It's strange that your computer thinks you're in the UK if you're not nearby. Sometimes, switching internet providers can cause these issues, so it might be worth mentioning if that's happened recently.

I'm actually in Ireland.

This issue can sometimes be due to how your ISP routes your connection. Have you tried checking your browser's location settings? Even with a cloak, sometimes browsers can pick up incorrect data if they've cached older location services.
