Why Does Strawberry Music Player Forget My Library After Reboot?

I'm pretty new to Linux, having switched to Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS just a few weeks ago. I'm dual booting with Windows on one SSD and have all my music stored on an internal HDD. I used to love Music Bee on Windows, but since there's no Linux version available, I decided to try out the Strawberry Music Player. I found that Rhythmbox lacks certain features I need, and Quodlibet wouldn't scan my library due to permission issues.

Here's my problem: I can use Strawberry to add my music library and listen to my tracks just fine. However, once I reboot my system, my library resets to empty. If I click on the list of recently played songs, I receive an error message saying that the file cannot be found. I suspect it might be related to the fact that my music is stored on a different drive than my Linux installation. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this, without moving my music folder?

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with the drive not being mounted properly after a reboot. In Linux, you'll want to ensure that the drive where your music is stored is permanently mounted. This way, Strawberry can always access your library when it starts up. You might need to dive into some settings, but it should be doable through the GUI without needing to mess with the console too much. Giving your drive a permanent mount should solve your problem!
