Hey everyone! I just built a new PC with an Intel i7 12700f, a GeForce 4060, and 32GB of RAM. While I'm getting decent performance in games like GTA V (averaging 70-100 fps, with occasional dips below 50), Minecraft is underwhelming. I'm maxing out Minecraft settings, and I only get around 80 fps, with some drops below 40. I've even tried running an older version, 1.12, but didn't see much improvement. The game performs better with lower render distances, but I'm wondering why I'm not able to maintain higher fps even with my specs. My CPU and GPU usage is often around 30%. I've got all my drivers up to date, and I'm not running shaders or anything fancy since I'm on a 1080p monitor. Any tips to boost my Minecraft fps while keeping the quality?

Minecraft has always been a bit of a mess performance-wise. Instead of Optifine, you might want to give Sodium a shot since it's known to improve performance significantly. If you do decide to use shaders later on, try Iris or Oculus for better optimization.
Where can I download Sodium?
Are you playing single-player or multiplayer? I've noticed that performance can differ a lot between the two.
I'm just playing single-player. Multiplayer usually runs smoother.
I'll definitely check out Sodium. Thanks for the tip!
