Why Isn’t My Burnt CD Working?

I've been trying to burn songs from Spotify onto a blank CD, following the whole process: copying the song link, using an MP3 converter, downloading the MP3s, and then burning them with Windows Media Player. Once the burning was complete, I ejected the CD, but when I tried to play it in my CD player, it said the disc was invalid. I even tried another CD player, and it wouldn't work either. I've done this three times now, so I'm wondering, what am I doing wrong?

Also, just a heads-up: some older CD players can’t read MP3 files at all. Make sure you're burning the CD in an audio format, not just as an MP3 disc. If it plays fine in your computer, it could indicate a burning issue.

If your audio CD isn’t working, try renaming the tracks to simple names like 1, 2, 3, etc. Sometimes unusual characters in track names can cause compatibility issues, especially with older players!

If you're still having issues, it might help to use software like iTunes for burning. Back in the day, I found it pretty reliable for creating music-ready discs. You just need to make sure the burn settings are correct.

Here are a few things that could be going wrong:
- Make sure you're actually burning it as a music CD and not a CD-ROM. Music CDs need to be in a specific format.
- Your CD player might be old and picky about CD-Rs; some older players only support certain types of discs. Consider using high-quality media like Taiyo Yuden if you can find it.
- If you're using CD-RWs instead of CD-Rs, many players don't support those.
- Lastly, try burning at a slower speed to improve burn quality; around 16x should be safe.

It sounds like you might be burning a data CD instead of an audio CD. Regular music CDs require a specific uncompressed format, so if you’re using MP3s, it’s essentially wasting space. You’d be better off using lossless formats like FLAC or WAV to burn your CDs properly.
