Why Won’t My 2K26 Use My GPU Instead of My CPU?

I'm having a frustrating issue with 2K26 where it seems to ignore my GPU completely. Whenever I launch the game, my CPU usage spikes to nearly 100%, while my GTX 3080 barely registers any activity at only 10-17%. I've got an i9-11900K CPU, and I've tried a bunch of fixes like checking the Control Panel, adjusting power management settings, messing with BIOS to prioritize my GPU, disabling the integrated GPU, and forcing high performance in Windows settings. Despite all these attempts, nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

It might also help to run the game in windowed mode for a bit. Sometimes that can 'kick' the GPU into action. Additionally, check if the game has any specific settings or configuration files that allow you to manually assign the GPU. Lastly, consider reinstalling the game if nothing else works. There could be a corrupt file that's messing everything up.

First off, make sure your monitor is plugged directly into the GPU, not the motherboard. It's a common oversight that can cause games to default to the CPU. If that's already sorted, try checking your Nvidia Control Panel settings to ensure the game is set to use the GTX 3080 as the preferred graphics processor. Also, verify that your drivers are up to date, as missing updates can cause performance issues.
