Why won’t my DM-47T Discman play the first few tracks on my burned CDs?

Hey everyone! I've been having some fun burning CDs, but I'm running into an issue with my DM-47T Discman. It's only playing the last tracks clearly, while it struggles with the first seven songs. It plays for about two seconds, then stops, and keeps doing that. I've used Verbatim CD-Rs and tried burning with Ashampoo Burning Studio, as well as using Windows Media Player, but I'm facing the same issue. I got a new disc drive a few days ago and the blank CDs are fresh, so I think the problem is with the Discman. It plays regular CDs without a hitch, so I'm puzzled. Should I consider getting a new Discman? I'd appreciate any insights!

No offense, but it’s not a Sony player, so that might be part of the issue. Just something to consider!

I haven’t burned a CD in ages, but it sounds like the Discman might have trouble if the CDs are burned too quickly. Try slowing down the burn speed next time. It can help with compatibility issues!

Thanks! I burned it at 10x instead of 24x, and now it only skips the first two songs. That's an improvement, I guess!

I’m not exactly sure, but did you make sure to finalize your CDs? Some players can’t read them properly unless they are finalized. Also, even if the discs are new, they might have been sitting around for a while, which can affect their quality.

I didn’t have the option to finalize it. I understand about the age issue, but I tried another burned CD in my car, and it worked perfectly, so I think it’s something else. Thanks for your help!
