I'm planning to switch my laptop to Linux Mint, and I'm a bit worried about whether this will wipe my existing data. My laptop has two separate physical drives: one for Windows and all my installed software, which was included when I bought it, and another drive that I added later just for Steam games. If I install Mint on my laptop, will both drives be wiped clean or just the drive where I'm installing it?

Definitely make sure to back everything up before you proceed with the installation. It’s really easy to accidentally wipe all your data during the setup. I’d suggest checking out some tutorials on YouTube, and if you can, disconnect any drives you don’t want to risk losing data from. Better safe than sorry!
You can choose how to install Mint, and it's best to do it on a drive where you don’t have important stuff or by creating a separate partition. Setting aside about 8 GB is standard, but if you want more room, I recommend around 50 GB for the system and a separate home partition for your files.
It really depends on whether you're dealing with two physical drives or just partitions on one. If Mint is installed on the drive with Windows, that drive will be cleared, but your second drive should stay safe. But I’d still back everything up just in case!
