I'm reaching out for help because I've had a tough time getting my setup right, and I'm starting to wonder if what's happening is normal or if there's something wrong. Here are my specs: an RTX 5060 Ti GPU, an Intel i7 11700KF CPU, Z490 Gaming Plus TUF motherboard, a 750W ASUS TUF PSU, and 2 RAM sticks running at 2666 MHz with XMP turned off. After I installed the 5060 Ti, I faced a lot of boot issues, like a stuck VGA LED and boot loops unless I used only one RAM stick. Now, I finally have it stable, but it's running at conservative memory speeds. What's really frustrating is that I'm experiencing inconsistent FPS in games compared to my previous RTX 3060. For instance, in the Dead Space Remake, I'm seeing noticeable stutters, in League of Legends (ARAM) I'm only getting about 140 FPS, and in CS2 it fluctuates between 190-220 FPS but has significant drops during busy scenes. I'm questioning whether my Z490 platform is struggling with newer GPUs, if running RAM at 2666 MHz is the problem, or if there's some other bottleneck due to firmware or drivers. For anyone using RTX 40/50 series cards on older Intel platforms, is this behavior expected? Is there an issue with POST sensitivity, the need for low memory speeds, or worse frametime consistency with the new GPU? Or does this indicate a compatibility problem requiring an upgrade to a newer platform? Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Make sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date. Post-update, try enabling XMP to optimize memory settings, and don’t forget about Resize Bar in BIOS settings too. Another suggestion is to do a clean install of your GPU drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller for better stability.
It sounds like a bandwidth issue since you're using a newer gen GPU on an older motherboard. The 5060 Ti is designed to work on a higher bandwidth, but your mobo might not be supplying that. You might want to consider if a motherboard upgrade is in your future if you keep running into performance barriers with this setup!
Yeah, the 5060 Ti is meant to take full advantage of PCIe lanes. An upgrade might solve those stuttering issues—just keep that in mind!
Did you ensure the latest BIOS version is on your board? And which VRAM model did you pick—8GB or 16GB? Sometimes, it might just depend on what you’re using!
Yes, the BIOS is updated, and I got the 8GB version on clearance, not ideal, but I couldn't pass up the deal.

I did the DDU and updated the BIOS. The problem with XMP is that it makes my PC get stuck on the VGA LED.
