Why Is My Display Compressed Even Though the Resolution Is Set Correctly?

I logged into my PC and noticed that my display appears squished or compressed for some reason, despite the resolution being set to the recommended level. I'm using Windows 11, OS build number 26200.7840, and I can't figure out what caused this issue. Did I accidentally press something on the keyboard?

It sounds like your display settings might not be properly configured, which can happen sometimes. Have you tried checking the resolution settings to see if they're set correctly? Also, make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your NVIDIA graphics card. You can usually find those on the NVIDIA website.

Yeah, also check if your monitor's settings are correct. Sometimes they can be reset and cause display issues. If you're still having trouble, providing a screenshot or photo could help others see what's going on.

You mentioned that your screen is locked at 1024 x 768. That could be part of the problem! It sounds like you might need to download the GeForce Game Ready Driver for your GPU. If the install doesn't seem to be working, try using Display Driver Uninstaller to completely remove the existing drivers and then reinstall the latest ones from NVIDIA's site.

Good point! Make sure to restart your PC after using the DDU. Sometimes a fresh boot is what you need for the changes to take effect.
