I've been experiencing a really strange issue where the elevator in my apartment seems to be ruining my Bluetooth headphones. After just one trip on this elevator, my earbuds become permanently crunchy and staticky. I've tried unplugging them before getting on the elevator, but that doesn't seem to help. Does anyone have suggestions on how to prevent this from happening? Would keeping them in a Faraday bag help at all? Thanks so much for any advice!

Honestly, it sounds pretty unlikely that an elevator could wreck your earbuds unless there's something seriously off about the wiring. Have you thought about how you narrowed it down to the elevator? You'll want to make sure there aren't other factors at play.
That sounds really weird! I've never heard of anything like that before. Typically, nothing should emit enough electromagnetic radiation in an elevator to damage your earbuds. Are you sure the elevator is the only cause? It might help to double-check your connections and devices outside of the elevator.
This sounds like a pretty extreme case of electromagnetic interference (EMI). If your earbuds are getting damaged that quickly, you might want to involve the FCC or a local tech enthusiast to investigate. For now, a solid option is to store your earbuds in a closed metal box as a makeshift Faraday cage to shield them from interference while you're in the elevator.
