I'm looking for the best way to connect my soundbar to a PC. It's easy to connect soundbars to TVs with HDMI, but I'm not sure about connecting advanced soundbars that use optical (TOSLINK), HDMI ARC, or similar connections to a computer. I want to know what setup is recommended for those types of connections.

If both your soundbar and PC have a TOSLINK (Optical S/PDIF) connection, that's the way to go. It's straightforward. But if you're thinking of using HDMI, make sure you have a monitor or TV that supports ARC.
I've never actually seen a PC with TOSLINK. Can this connection work using a monitor instead of a TV?
