Looking for Recommendations on a Gaming Headset After a Disappointing Experience

Hey everyone, thanks for taking a moment to help me out. I'm in my late 30s and I've been using my HyperX Cloud II with a Blue Yeti for about 8 years now. While they've been great, I'm looking to switch things up and go for a more compact all-in-one headset with a decent mic since my current setup takes up too much desk space. I had a budget of £200 and ended up getting the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 3 (PC version) for £170, but it turned out to be a bad choice. The sound quality is alright, but the mic is just okay, and I've had a ton of issues with volume levels, Bluetooth connectivity, and the software (which has been a nightmare). So, I'm returning it and considering a refurbished Audeze Maxwell for the same price. I mostly play single-player games but also enjoy some FPS games like COD where clear sound is important. However, after checking the Audeze subreddit, I'm a bit hesitant because people are saying they're heavy and uncomfortable, even though the sound quality is top-notch. I've heard SteelSeries Nova Pro is good too, but I'm not keen on dealing with DACs either. I might be overthinking this, so any suggestions or insights on the Maxwell or other headphones would be greatly appreciated!

You might want to consider Sennheiser if you don’t necessarily need a built-in mic. I’ve got the Sennheiser HD 280 Pros, and they’re fantastic for audio quality. They’re about $100, but you can definitely find even better options within your budget. Also, check out Beyerdynamic—great sound quality!
