What’s the Best Budget-Friendly VM Service to Access via Browser?

I'm on the hunt for a cloud PC service where I can access a basic virtual machine through my browser using HTTPS (port 443). My workplace has tight internet restrictions, and I'm unable to use my own devices or personal projects on my work machine. However, I often find myself with downtime at work and want to utilize that time for personal projects.

Here's what I'm looking for:
- A service that can be accessed via web browser over HTTPS (port 443)
- A basic virtual desktop, whether it's Windows, Linux, or Mac is fine
- It doesn't need to be high-performance; just enough to handle a few browser tabs and basic Office-type applications
- The cheapest option available since I'm using it personally, not for business
- I'm considering Azure Virtual Desktop, but I'm open to simpler and cheaper alternatives. If anyone has recommendations or experiences with providers, I'd love to hear them!

Consider using Azure Virtual Desktop with a basic CPU. Make sure to set it to deallocate when you're done or on a schedule to save costs. It'll do the trick for what you need!

Honestly, be careful. Some people might think it's not right to use work downtime for personal projects, but if your leadership encourages it, go for it! Just make sure to keep it discreet. You don't want any trouble.

For a solid budget option, check out Kasm. It's free and works great as a VM service. I've used it on an old laptop and found it pretty slick. Just set it up right and you'll be good to go!

Sounds interesting! I’ll definitely check it out. I also have Apache Guacamole running, but I need something I can manage traffic better with.
