What’s the best Linux distro for gaming right now?

I've been using Bazzite for a few months and really like it, but the rpm-ostree package management is a bit frustrating, especially when it comes to using GitHub. I'm considering switching to another distro more suited for gaming. I've seen recommendations for CachyOS, Mint, Nobara, and Fedora, but most of those discussions are a couple of years old. Has anything changed since then? Are there other distros that you would suggest for a gaming setup?

Honestly, any Linux distro will do these days for gaming unless you're running cutting-edge hardware. I've had solid experiences with Ubuntu, Debian, and Arch, so just pick whichever one you like best. The desktop environment (DE) you choose often makes a bigger difference than the distro itself!

Exactly! Any DE can be used on any distro. Just pick your favorite package manager and philosophy, and dive in!

If you're enjoying Bazzite except for the package management aspect, Fedora is a great choice. It has a similar feel and is generally more user-friendly with its traditional package handling. Nobara is also worth considering since it's optimized specifically for gaming, although it’s less stable since it’s maintained by one person. I liked it during my trial, but it's good to keep that in mind!
