What’s the best way to upgrade my aging gaming PC?

Hey everyone! I built my PC around 4-5 years ago, and it's really starting to slow down, especially when I play games. Here are my specs:

- Intel i5-10400F CPU (6 cores, 12MB cache)
- 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM (2400MHz)
- ASUS Dual Evo RTX 2060 GPU (6GB VRAM)
- Gigabyte B460M DS3H V2 Motherboard
- Corsair 550W CV series PSU
- 256GB SATA SSD for OS (500MB/s read, 400MB/s write)
- All my files are on a 2TB HDD
- Regular single-fan CPU cooler (no overheating issues so far)

Lately, while gaming, my PC has been freezing and jittering at random times. I'm experiencing severe FPS drops, sometimes going from 95-130 FPS down to around 50 FPS until I restart the game. I've noticed that my RAM is always full, so I just bought some extra RAM from a friend and will soon have 32GB total (4x8GB of the same DDR4 2400MHz RAM). I hope this helps, but I feel like I might need to upgrade more components.

I'm looking for guidance on what to upgrade without spending a fortune. I'm unsure if I need to upgrade my CPU, GPU, or both, and I know upgrading one component could necessitate upgrading others too. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

One of the biggest upgrades you can make is getting an SSD large enough for your games. Modern titles really struggle on HDDs these days. Switching to an SSD will definitely speed things up!
