I'm facing a tough time trying to install Linux on my new laptop because my old computer, which couldn't upgrade to Windows 11, recently died. After being without a computer for two months, I finally received my new laptop last week! I know how to download Linux, but the biggest hurdle has been creating a bootable USB. Unfortunately, I've been using public computers to try and run programs like BalenaEtcher and Rufus, but every time I try, it says I'm not allowed to execute those applications. I'm looking for any workarounds here—is there any way I can create a bootable USB without having to pay someone €35 for something I can do myself?

If you’ve just gotten your laptop, why not use it to create the USB directly? It should have come with some pre-installed OS, right?
It sounds like the restrictions on those public computers are your main hurdle. Maybe try asking a friend if they have an unrestricted computer you can use? They could quickly help you create that USB.

Honestly, I'd rather not deal with Windows 11, which is why I'm looking for a Linux solution!
