I'm having issues with my Wi-Fi speed. My speed tests show an average of 4 Mbps, but when I try to download files using a download manager, I'm only getting around 400 kBps. Since my phone is relatively new, I don't think it's a hardware issue. Interestingly, when I switch to mobile data, my speeds are much faster. Is there anything I can do to improve my download speeds over Wi-Fi?

It sounds like you're experiencing normal behavior. When you get 400 kBps, that's actually about 3.2 Mbps, which is pretty close to your speed test results. There’s some overhead from processes like error checking, so it makes sense.
I'm convinced that some ISPs prioritize traffic coming from speed test servers. They want their customers to see impressive speeds, but when it comes to regular downloads, the speeds may drop significantly.
Have you checked which internet provider you're using? Those speeds can sometimes indicate an issue with the Wi-Fi hardware. Also, where are you located? Sometimes, rural areas deal with worse Wi-Fi connections due to limited infrastructure.
I live in a German village, so that's probably why my Wi-Fi isn't great. I thought it might be my device not utilizing the full potential of the Wi-Fi, but another comment mentioned it is.
Improving your Wi-Fi could help a lot. Can you share more about your setup? Where's your Wi-Fi modem located? And what's your distance from it?
Just a heads-up, speed tests often measure in Mbps (megabits), not MBps (megabytes). When you see 4 Mbps, you should generally expect around 500 kBps for downloads, considering the conversion (1 byte = 8 bits).
What exactly are you trying to download? It might help if you tried downloading directly from the source instead of using a download manager, which can sometimes slow things down.

Thank you for clarifying!
