I have 1,569 music files on my Galaxy Z Fold 7. After installing and running an antivirus app from the Google Play Store, my PlayerPro library showed only 1,562 songs. However, Musicolet, Samsung My Files, and the phone's internal storage still showed all of the files. I removed the antivirus app and cleared PlayerPro's data and cache. The songs I tested played normally, although I haven't listened to every file from beginning to end. Most of my collection is in WMA format. Should I be worried about malware or corrupted files? Do I need to delete the music, factory-reset my phone, or is there a safer way to check and protect the files?

This doesn’t sound like malware or widespread file corruption. A music player’s library count can differ from the number of files in storage because it may not support every format, may skip files it can’t index, or may combine duplicate versions of the same track. WMA compatibility is a particularly likely explanation, since some Android players handle it inconsistently. Check the missing files directly in the file manager and try rescanning the library or opening them with another player. If the files are present and play correctly, there’s no reason to delete them or factory-reset the phone.
Most of my collection is in WMA format, so that may explain why PlayerPro is showing a slightly lower count. I’ll compare the missing files and rescan the library before doing anything drastic.
