I'm trying to figure out the best method to switch between my headphones and speakers while using a PC and a PS5 without constantly unplugging. Ideally, I'd like a USB switch that offers options to connect both the PC and PS5, allowing four scenarios: 1) PC with headphones, 2) PC with speakers, 3) PS5 with headphones, and 4) PS5 with speakers. Can anyone suggest if a single device can handle this setup, or if I can daisy-chain two switches? I'd love to hear how others manage their device switching!

I use a USB switch for my setup with two PCs. Both connect to it, which then connects to a USB hub and an audio interface where both headphones and speakers are connected. I can output to either or both depending on which I want; just mute the headphones when using the speakers. I'm unsure if the audio interface works with a PS5, but regular USB soundcards usually do.
I have a USB hub with individual switches for each port, so both my headphones and speakers can be plugged in, and I just switch on the one I want to use. It’s been working great for me!
If you plug your headphones or speakers into your monitor, it'll switch automatically based on which device you're using. Just a thought!
Yeah, but I'm looking for a solution where everything stays plugged in and I can just switch without having to constantly unplug stuff.
I've got an audio mixer that keeps multiple devices plugged in and lets me control the volume for each one. I can run my PC speakers, headphones, and even some additional gear. Just be aware that some mixers are stereo-only, so you might need something more complex if you're looking for surround sound options.

If your headphones are USB, a hub should work the way you want! The PS5 should recognize it much like a PC.
