Hey everyone! I recently bought a new PC, but I'm running into issues with the VRAM on my Asus GeForce RTX 5060 8GB—it tends to max out quite quickly. I'm contemplating an upgrade to the 5060 Ti 16GB since the store where I purchased my computer will buy back my current card for €240 if I upgrade. Currently, I'm gaming at 1080p (my monitor doesn't support 2K or 4K). Here are a couple of questions: 1. Is it worth upgrading from the basic 5060 8GB to the 5060 Ti 16GB purely for the added VRAM and possibly a small performance uplift? 2. Which 5060 Ti 16GB card would you recommend? I'm considering the Gigabyte Windforce OC for €419 on sale or the Asus Dual OC for €479. Any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Don't stress too much about the VRAM maxing out; it's there for a reason and getting used. Sure, a 5060 Ti 16GB is better, but it's not like your current card is way behind the times. A lot of folks overcomplicate things. Just check out some YouTube videos comparing the performance of different cards in real-time and see whether the upgrade is worth it based on your gaming experience.
If you're hitting that VRAM limit and it's causing noticeable performance issues, upgrading does seem worthwhile. Out of the two 5060 Ti options, I'd definitely suggest going with the cheaper Gigabyte Windforce. If you can find a 9060 XT 16GB for under €400, that might be worth considering too!
Can you share more about your setup and what games you're looking to play? That will help a lot!
Sure! Here’s my setup: Ryzen 7 7700, 5060 8GB, 16GB DDR5 RAM (planning to upgrade later), MSI Pro B650 motherboard, and a Seasonic B12 BC 80 Plus Bronze power supply. Currently, I’m playing mainly BF6 on high textures and medium/low settings with DLSS balanced, and Hogwarts Legacy on high. In the future, I’d love to play Cyberpunk and want good performance on high or ultra at 1080p.

Totally agree! VRAM really holds you back in some games, but NVIDIA's ray tracing and upscaling are superior. The price difference for the 9060 XT isn't huge, but just think about the performance you need!
