What’s a Good Temporary CPU Upgrade for My RTX 5070?

Hey everyone! I just got myself an RTX 5070, upgrading from my 3070, but I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 3500X. I'm looking for a decent AM4 CPU that can help reduce potential bottlenecking until I'm ready to upgrade to AM5 next year, possibly to something like the 9800X3D. I came across a 5700X that seems to be priced well. Would that be a good option, or are there other CPUs I should consider?

Definitely consider the 5700X or even the 5800X if you can find it cheap! They both offer good performance and should help with your setup. It's worth spending a bit more for a better experience.

I had a 5600X before moving to a 5800X3D, and I noticed a big difference, especially in CPU-intensive games like BF6. The 5700X3D might also be a good option at lower prices if you're okay with used parts.

Yeah, I've seen 5800Xs go for great prices on eBay and even AliExpress. Just make sure you're getting the right CPU for your board!

For guys like me, my CPU was maxed out at 99% while my GPU was barely using 20%. So an upgrade can really help!

If it works for you now, I’d suggest testing your current setup before buying anything new. As long as your games play well, a bottleneck isn’t the end of the world.

I’ve been using a 5600X with my RTX 4070 Ti at 1440p, and it runs very well. Even though I know the CPU's a bit of a bottleneck, I’m still getting solid performance at medium settings with 80-90+ fps using DLSS. If your setup runs well, you might not need to worry too much about the bottlenecking.
