I've been having a problem with my personal email account lately. It's the one I use for almost everything important, but now I'm only getting spammy mass emails from companies I've ordered from in the past. Important messages from my boss, friends, and even my lawyer just aren't making it to my inbox! They aren't even landing in my spam folder. I had a friend send me an email from his work account to test it, and it never arrived, but his message to my spam folder did go through. So it's definitely an issue with my personal email. What could be causing this lack of delivery?

If you're using Gmail, try checking the 'All Mail' folder. Sometimes emails might be archived rather than hitting your inbox directly, especially if you have certain rules set up. It's worth checking!
Another possibility is that your email server could be blocking messages it thinks are spam. This happens sometimes! You might want to reach out to your email provider’s support and give them the addresses that aren’t coming through.
It sounds like your email might be configured in a way that's filtering out those important messages. Since you're still getting mass emails, check your settings for any filters or rules that could be blocking direct communications. Make sure to look at your blocked addresses, forwarding settings, and also ensure you're not out of storage. Sometimes, a misconfigured POP/IMAP setting can cause issues like this too.
Also, double-check with your friend if his test email showed as delivered on his end. If it did, then it's likely an issue with your email receiving it—but if he got an undeliverable notice, then there’s a different issue altogether.

Thanks for the tips! I’ll check those settings and see if anything looks off.
